MSN Spaces: No hanky panky stuff

Tuesday Dec 7 2004

MSN Spaces

Stupid automated censoring-alert! The people at BoingBoing had a go at trying to find out what does and what doesn't pass as a title for a shiny new spaces blog. The results were a mixed bag. It seems whores aren't welcome on MSN spaces but prostitutes are. One can have a about tits but one on the history of pornography would not pass the censorfilter. And... if you planned to start a blog about the Russian writer of literature Vladimir Nabokov you'll have to skip his world famous novel 'Lolita' because it won't pass. I can't wait to dump Pivot and switch to MSN spaces......

P.S: I wonder what happens when the spammers find out about this fine service...

On a search for the ultimate CMS

Monday Dec 6 2004
Everyone working in the field of web development knows about them: content management systems. Back in the early days websites were just a couple of crafted pages and possibly a form or two for visitors to send in some information but those days are long gone. Bernhard, rest in peace

Thursday Dec 2 2004

Bernhard

Yesterday evening the ineviteable happened: Our Dutch Royal Highness prince Bernhard passed away. Prince Bernhard was a remarkable man. He married queen Juliana in 1937 and he was a real WW2 hero who's fought with the soldiers at the battlefront. In addition to that he's even been a RAF fighter pilot. Therefore, unlike George W. Bush who fights wrong wars from behind his desk, Bernhard was a man who fought a a 'right' war right from within fighter cockpits or the battle front. Besides being a war hero he was also a prominent wildlife activist, the key figure in an important Dutch cultural foundation and many more things. Bernhard had a very strong opinion about many issues in the Netherlands and he was generally seen as a very nice person. Rest in peace Bernhard, your country will miss you...
