Hi from Sweden!
It's been kind of quiet on this site and I'm sorry to tell you it will probably stay like that for at least two more weeks. The reasons for this are simple: I don't have any internet at home. In fact I don't even have any furniture at home except for a sleeping couch we've bought this week. All our stuff, including my G5 (grrr) won't arrive before August 1-4. In addition to that it's been extremely busy at work and I'm quite sure it will stay that way for at least a couple of weeks. It's exciting however and I'm very happy to work at this ambitious project I still can't tell you very much about unfortunately. Let me explain what's happening on the life side of things at the moment. Warning: lifelog entry ahead. Ignore at will!

a very nice old house near our new place.
We've arrived in Stockholm on friday the 14th of July and we've been succesfully combining hard work and serious partying ever since. The one thing that keeps getting updated is my Flickr photo stream. That will give you an idea of what's going on here. The Swedish summer has been absolutely great so far. It seems I've just dodged a massive heat wave in the Netherlands which started just after we left. Here the weather is great and it stays light almost forever at night. Our most important hangout has been Debaser which is a cool club with a lot of live music and a great terras.

A very EMPTY place still
Like I said before, our apartment is still totally empty except for a bed, a part of our clothes and some stuff in the fridge. We're managing fine however, mainly because of the nice weather. The apartment is about 12 kilometers away from the city. I guess some people would find it a disadvantage to be this far from the Stockholm city centre but it only takes 20 minutes by tube to get here. In the weekend it's possible to take the tube until 3am and therefore it's no problem at all even when we want to go out. And if everything fails there's always plenty of other places for us to crash including our actual office. Another very nice surprise that came with our apartment is the fact that we're very close to the water. A five minutes walk from our place takes me to a very nice beach where people hang out, swim and even take their BBQ's to.

We found a perfect swimming spot!
While there's several things we've encountered that take some serious getting used to we're doing quite fine. We've made a lot of new friends and it's great fun to be here. I'll be enjoying all changes for a while and working hard on helping to get the project I'm working on a kick-ass reality. If you're here for the tech articles: Please bear with me for a while while I adjust to living in Sweden. To my friends, family and everyone who's simply interested in what I'm doing, follow the photo stream!

this breathtaking scenery can be found only 5 minutes away from our apartment.
I'm actually posting this message from somewhere outside around my new apartment where I found an open wireless network. It took some walking around and trying but I managed to find the sweet spot. Now let's just hope the weather stays as nice as it is right now! ;)

Love it how you decorated your place by the way, nicely done… ;) At least you can’t say you don’t have enough space. :P

A short update on me: Well, I graduated and still looking for a job but starting to believe that I’m not suited for the Belgian job market and should maybe consider to a career of unemployment. No one seems to like to employ someone with a mind of his own…
With that said, hope to talk to you soon and good luck with the moving in the following days!

Thats it for now.
