America: from Freedom to Fascism
The scariest damn film you'll see this year. It will leave you staggering out of the theatre, slack-jawed and trembling. Makes 'Fahrenheit 9/11' look like 'Bambi.' After watching this movie, your comfy, secure notions about America -- and about what it means to be an American -- will be forever shattered. Producer/director Aaron Russo and the folks at Cinema Libre Studio deserve to be heralded as heroes of a post-modern New American Revolution. This is shocking stuff. You'll be angry, you'll be disgusted, but you may actually break out in a cold sweat and feel a sickness deep in your gut; I would advise movie theatre managers to hand out vomit bags. You may end up needing one.
--- Todd David Schwartz, CBS
My take: Lately, every time I think I've seen it all, only to discover things look even worse than I thought. If the stuff shown in this upcoming movie by Aaron Russo is really true I can only say one thing: I hope Americans love their children (and the world they live in) enough to not give up without a fight...
Now go view the 14 minute trailer!

That’s certainly an interesting looking movie. That being said, the trailers are a bit sensationalist and without actually being able to see the movie no one can really debate the veractiy of Aaron’s claims.
Which leads me to my next point. If the message of this movie is so important why isn’t it available for free?
Part of the website reads:
“Will you see this on TV? You can, but we can’t get it on the air without your help. After you watch the spot, please take the time to donate so we can get this distributed on as many networks as possible. Air time is expensive and we need the help of all lovers of liberty!”
I have no problem with donations to get this on TV but they can easily distribute on the Internet first (BitTorrent, YouTube) and then if you like the message then you can donate all you want. Makes sense, no?
If the message is as important as he says it is, then it should be distributed for free!

Also I noticed the Wikipedia article of the movie heavily quotes United States Code. But there has to be a law that backs up code or the code is meaningless. That’s what this movie is all about. There is no law that the IRS Code or any other code on taxation is based upon. The code essentially appeared out of thin air.

So I am really wondering what the movie is going to be saying exactly.

wasavailable freely on the internet. Google Video had a high quality, full length version of it up just yesterday. It appears to have been removed. I’d like to hear from Russo’ staff/website as to what occured here. Was it a pirate that I watched an hour plus of, that has since been ‘pulled’ (not in the WTC7 way)? Was this originally intended for free release but then the plan was changed? At 02 October '06 - 21:21 drewt wrote:
The reason for the theatrical release is 1) to be consistent in the presentation of the movie to the audience and 2) in our culture we believe that nothing worthwhile is ever ‘free’ so while a movie such as ‘Loose Change’ has done very well with people who value things that are not valued by $ the fact remains that the vast majority of the citizens of our country do not take something seriously that debuts on the internet and is free.
Regarding Loose Change and its success: it serves a purpose and has a definite benefit to certain part(ies) which may or may not be revealed over time but look very carefully at anything that enjoys ‘success’ and such coups as the endless internet press they got about the Popular Mechanics interview. The timing is suspect due to the release very shortly after the controversy in the mainstream press about the pentagon not releasing any video footage of whatever it was flying into the pentagon. They had to do something to feed the sharks and keep them at bay.
Enter Loose Change. If for no other reason than the movie received a one page article in Forbes, one of the few remaining bibles to the class conscious mentality that should be in the history of the evolution of planet Earth – soon!
